Pittsburgh’s LGBTQ-oriented bars aren’t architectural gems like some counterparts in the non-queer world. Donny’s Place is an ordinary-looking commercial building with graffiti tags, peeling painted signs and boarded up windows. For a gay bar, though, evidence of neglect and disinvestment can contribute to historical significance.
