Those with felony convictions who will be in prison or a halfway house at the time of an election are not eligible to vote, according to the Department of State. Pennsylvania’s primary elections are on April 26. Felons who have served their time, even if on probation, can get back to the polls, though.
In 2000, the state eliminated a five-year voting ban.
