❤️ Best $15ish meal(s): Brown Stew Chicken, Jerk Chicken, Curried Shrimp

Why go?

A yellow graphic with a faint city map background reads: “$15ish Meal Map. Explore the map,” with a right-pointing arrow.

Fireside Caribbean Restaurant is a staple in the Wilkinsburg community. Known for turning the heat up on their spices, Fireside offers classics like jerk and curry chicken but also pepper steak and oxtail. They also offer wings, shrimp and tilapia with your choice of their signature flavors.

What to order

We tried the large jerk chicken entree with rice and peas and cabbage for $13. I chose to get white rice with the milder brown stew chicken, and that small meal came to just $10. The curried shrimp meal comes with about a dozen pieces of shrimp mixed in with cooked vegetables over rice and cabbage for $17.95.
