Ember Duke
Ember graduated from Duquesne University in May with a degree in multiplatform journalism and digital media arts, with minors in philosophy and creative writing. Most recently, she served as a summer editorial intern at Pittsburgh’s Public Source through the Pittsburgh Media Partnership. Over the summer she reported on public safety, housing, the environment and local government — all of which, and more, she plans to cover through the fall. Previously, she served as layout editor for The Duquesne Duke, her university’s weekly print newspaper, where she fell in love with being a journalist. Ember is originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, but is excited to start her career in Pittsburgh. When not on the reporting trail, she spends time with her cat, Irvine, trying to keep a regular creative writing practice or teaching herself to cook.
