Claira Tokarz
Claira Tokarz is an undergraduate student at Ohio University going into her final semester studying Visual Communications with a focus in photojournalism. Raised in Appalachia, her work is rooted in place and shaped by the people and environments she knows best. She began photographing at thirteen after her aunt introduced her to the medium, where she first learned the intimacy and responsibility of telling stories through images. Since then, Claira has continued documenting everyday life and personal narratives, using photography to stay close to the stories that matter to her. She is thrilled to be interning with Public Source this summer and is excited for what's to come!
