We’ve got part II of a collab with Pittsburgh’s Public Source to show you hidden art gems in and around our city.

Hidden Art Gem – Troy Hill Art Houses (@troyhillarthouses)

What makes this a gem 💎: This is such an incredible example of reclaiming abandoned spaces and giving artists creative freedom in a way that feels larger than life. The houses seem ordinary at first glance, but that just adds even more depth and mystique to the concept. Truly a hidden gem!

Due to the nature of these projects, video and photography is not permitted inside, so you’ll just have to see for yourself. If you’ve been to the art houses, which one was your favorite?

Your need to know:

  • 💎 What: an immersive art adventure
  • 💎 Where: Troy Hill (North Side)
  • 💎 When: Weekends, by appointment only
  • 💎 Who: Commissioned by Evan Mirapaul | House Artists:
  • La Hutte Royal | Thorsten Brinkmann (Germany)
  • Kunzhaus | Robert Kuśmirowski (Poland)
  • Darkhouse Lighthouse | Lenka Clayton + Phillip Andrew Lewis (USA)
  • Mrs. Christopher’s House | Mark Dion (USA)
