❤️ Best $15ish meal(s): The Housemade Chicken Salad on a Pretzel, Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel and the Daily Specials

Why go?

A yellow graphic with a faint city map background reads: “$15ish Meal Map. Explore the map,” with a right-pointing arrow.

Almost everything on the menu is under $5, and I’m talking about a menu of solid filling food, not just single pretzels, though you can get those too, with a variety of dipping sauces for just 80 cents. They bake their pretzels daily in the building’s original brick oven from 1872.

What to order

The Pretzel Shop has both breakfast and deli sandwiches served on fresh pretzels, as well as a selection of sandwich rolls and daily specials. My go-to is the homemade chicken salad served on a fresh pretzel with a peanut butter cookie and a Schneider’s Peach Iced Tea.

Good to know before you go

  • You order your food for takeout at the counter. There are a few tables available in the warmer months outside on the sidewalk.
  • The shop accepts cash only, but there is an ATM on site.
  • Though there usually is a line, it moves very quickly.
