Why go?

Beechview has a thriving Latino community with several family-run restaurants along Broadway Avenue, conveniently located on the Red Line. You can’t miss Alquisiras Paleteria’s bright yellow and pink building, which offers plenty of seating inside and a couple of quaint picnic tables outside. The restaurant is known for its tacos, tortas, tostadas, enchiladas and Mexican popsicles.
What to order
Build a meal with budget-friendly items like Elotes street corn, tacos and tostadas, or go for a heartier dish like tortas and quesadillas, all under $15. You’ll even have room in your budget for a treat. Check out their freezer chest of $2 Mexican popsicles in flavors like lime, strawberry, tamarind, coconut and spicy mango.

Good to know before you go
- Primarily a counter-service, takeout-friendly spot, though there is a decent amount of seating inside and a few tables outside the restaurant.
- This is a small, family-run restaurant, so don’t expect a big social media or web presence. Prices may differ slightly from what you see online.
- If you take the T into Beechview, get off at the Broadway and Shiras station for a two-minute walk to the restaurant.
